When strange phenomena occur at a luxury glamping site, Duck Detective Eugene McQuacklin takes on the task of solving the case. With his crooked hat, suspicious beak, and bread crumb-filled past, Eugene faces not only strange suspects but also his own personal obsessions. The game is a short investigative adventure, only about 2-3 hours, enough for you to solve the case in a relaxing evening.
Each clue is a question
You will walk around the camp, interrogate each suspect and collect clues to gradually piece together the whole case. The plot is cleverly guided through a fill-in-the-blank system, requiring sharp reasoning and observation. Each character has their own unique traits and humorous dialogue, carefully voiced and expressed with characteristic graceful drawings.
A Case and a Bread
Although the haunting is the most talked about thing in the camp, what really haunts Eugene is a broken marriage and a craving for bread that has not yet been quenched. Interspersed with the investigation are moments of everyday life, where the detective has to face himself more than nameless ghosts. It is this interweaving that brings unexpected emotional depth to a seemingly simple game.
Solving the case with an unwilling partner
This time, Eugene is not alone. A new partner appears, both supporting and “causing trouble” throughout the case-solving journey. Together, they wade through each testimony, touch on each strange trace, and step by step uncover a mystery that you would not expect. Everything is wrapped up in a small space but is enough to keep you hooked from beginning to end with grace, surprise, and sophistication.
A light but surprising evening
Duck Detective: The Ghost of Glamping is not too long, not too sensational, but enough to make you laugh, think and sometimes find yourself in Eugene’s beak full of bread crumbs. With a gentle pace, smart storytelling and reasonable interactivity, this is the ideal game for those who love the gentle, personality-rich investigation genre.
