Against the Storm puts you in the shoes of the Burning Queen’s loyal Viceroy, tasked with restoring civilization to its former glory after the Blightstorm. In a world shrouded in endless rainstorms, you’re not building a city, but a network of settlements populated by a variety of fantastical races. Each settlement is a new chapter of challenge, where life and death are separated by the smallest management decisions. When the storms come and everything collapses, you’ll start over, but not from scratch. The resources you’ve accumulated from your previous journey will continue to follow you, creating a unique and engaging roguelite experience over time.

Multi-race – Multi-choice
In each settlement, you’ll have to balance the needs of races like foxes, lizards, beavers, humans, and elves. Each species has its own unique abilities and requires different treatment. You can choose to feed everyone with food, housing, and entertainment, or sacrifice the interests of one group to speed up production to serve the Queen’s orders. This diversity not only makes your strategy always adaptable, but also creates vivid, humane social scenarios in the cold and dark post-apocalyptic setting.
Roguelite in the world of construction
Unlike classic castle-building games, Against the Storm forces you to think beyond one cycle. Each settlement is just a part of a large world map, where you must constantly find new locations, mine resources, and unlock upgrades for Smoldering City – the last bastion of humanity. The challenge is constantly increasing with the Queen’s request, along with increasingly harsh climate conditions, creatures, and random risks. You will have to develop quickly while skillfully controlling your reputation to avoid being summoned early. If you fail, the game continues – but you lose a settlement, a hope.
Every game is a new world
With hundreds of variations and six biomes, Against the Storm ensures that no two games are the same. One may reward you with rare resources but be deadly. Another is more peaceful but limits your strategy. Weather conditions, terrain, buildings, blueprints, and even the traders who come each year change, forcing you to think on your feet. Even a bold choice or a cautious retreat can determine the fate of the next settlement. The variety and unpredictability keep the game fresh and engaging.
