Arcana Heart is a 2D fighting game developed and published by Examu in 2003 for the PlayStation 2. The game is the first installment in the Arcana Heart series and introduces a new Arcana system, allowing players to use power of souls to enhance their strength and skills.
The game is set in a world where humans and Arcana, powerful spirits that can be summoned, coexist. Players choose one of 10 characters, each with their own unique fighting style and Arcana.
The gameplay of Arcana Heart is similar to other 2D fighting games. The player uses the buttons on the controller to perform basic, combo, and special attacks. Arcana gives the player several additional abilities, such as increasing attack power or providing new abilities.
