Bubsy in The Purrfect Collection

Bubsy in The Purrfect Collection is the most comprehensive historical collection of Bubsy the wildcat – a controversial character in the mascot wars of the early 90s. Limited Run Games has brought a complete version, recreating the tumultuous past and enduring appeal of this brand. The collection not only allows you to replay classic Bubsy titles, but also takes you to explore the interesting journey behind the birth of one of the most controversial mascots in gaming history.

Classic Game Collection

In The Purrfect Collection, players will experience the most important titles in the Bubsy series. From Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind on SNES, Famicom and SEGA Genesis, Bubsy II on multiple platforms, Fractured Furry Tales on Atari Jaguar, to Bubsy 3D on PlayStation – all recreated and upgraded for modern platforms thanks to exclusive Carbon Engine technology. With improved resolution and frame rates, along with the ability to save and rewind, these old games are brought to life in a more complete and user-friendly way.

More than a collection

The Purrfect Collection’s uniqueness lies in the depth of its archives. Players will find scanned art, original manuals, vintage advertisements, and many other artifacts taken directly from the Bubsy archives. Additionally, video interviews with those involved in the production will give you a deeper understanding of the brand’s development, successes, and setbacks. The built-in music player also lets you enjoy familiar Bubsy tracks that have been associated with generations of fans.

A project driven by passion

The project is led by Audi Sorlie – producer, author, and world-leading Bubsy expert. Together with the Limited Run Games and Atari teams, he has crafted an informative, nostalgic, and thoughtful retrospective of the 3’6” 80-pound jungle cat. Every detail, from gameplay to behind-the-scenes material, has been carefully crafted to give the most complete picture of Bubsy.

Bubsy in The Purrfect Collection on Nintendo Switch is more than just a collection of games, it’s a journey through the history of a memorable and controversial icon. With a mix of classic titles, rare archives, and exclusive interviews, this is a must-see for anyone looking to revisit a special chapter in the platforming world.
