River City Girls brings players back to the dangerous streets of River City, but this time, Kunio and Riki – two familiar heroes – have been kidnapped. The burden of rescue falls on the two strong girlfriends Kyoko and Misako. They decide to embark on a journey of punching, kicking and smashing through all obstacles to find out who is behind the kidnapping. The story is led by a vivid manga style and anime cutscenes, making the journey both dramatic and entertaining.
Classic action fighting gameplay
The game retains the legendary beat ‘em up spirit with eye-catching hand-to-hand action scenes. You can launch continuous combos, grappling moves, or special moves to defeat enemies. Players can fight alone or with friends in local co-op mode for more drama. Each battle not only requires agility but also encourages creativity in skill coordination.
Diverse upgrade system
Kyoko and Misako can learn new skills, buy recovery items and power-ups from shops scattered throughout the city. In addition, you can also use weapons picked up on the road, from baseball bats, chairs, to improvised items to make the battle more chaotic and fun. It is this diversity that helps players always find a new approach in each clash.
Unique art style
River City Girls stands out with colorful pixel-art graphics, reminiscent of the 16-bit style but refreshed in a modern way. Manga and anime scenes are cleverly inserted, making each step in the plot as engaging as reading a vivid comic book. The epic synth-pop music, featuring many famous artists such as Megan McDuffee, Chipzel and Cristina Vee, further enhances the vibrant and inspiring atmosphere.
